Along with saltpeter and The Brautigan Book Club, Kim is delighted to be developing an opera, Tonseisha: The Man Who Abandoned The World, on a play by Erik Patterson. In one sentence: ‘A young Japanese woman is haunted by the loss of two men: her father, whom she barely knew, and cult novelist Richard Brautigan, whom she’s never met’. We’ve just come back from Wales, where we presented an excerpt at the inaugural Dinefwr Literary Festival, in the presence of Brautigan’s daughter Ianthe.

Next up, the same teaser excerpt is to be presented at the Grimeborn Opera Festival at the Arcola Theatre. Kim is delighted to be invited back to Grimeborn following the performance of one of his other opera-theatre-piece-type-thingies, The boy the forest and the desert there last summer.
